March 20 is observed as WORLD SPARROW DAY worldwide. This year's theme is "I love Sparrows".
These beautiful small birds face numerous problems due to environmental issues which makes them really rare to find these days. It is high time we show concern for the protection and conservation of these sweet chirping sparrows who have become one of the symbols of childhood days for many. Lets strive to bring them all back. |
INTERNATIONAL OCTOPUS DAY
October 8 is observed as INTERNATIONAL OCTOPUS DAY and it is time to reflect, appreciate and celebrate these magnificent creations of nature. These spectacular eight limbed molluscs (marine invertebrates) are known for their incredible camouflaging skills. They have three hearts, no bones (invertebrates), blue blood and are bilaterally symmetrical. Like water that takes the shape of any vessel it is poured into, the octopuses are intelligent marine animals that can fit through even the tiny holes. They can not just change their colour and pattern but even shape according to the environment. Octopuses can even regenerate their arm when lost in an attack. Though octopuses are not considered as endangered or threatened species their habitat which includes coral reefs and sea bed are endangered due to excessive fishing, pollution and careless tourism apart from some other natural phenomenon. We might be living/ staying away from the vast seas and oceans yet we cannot claim "not responsible" for this disagreeable situation since it is our wastes- PLASTICS and other non-biodegradable substances that end up polluting the marine ecosystem eventually posing threat to the diverse life forms. Let us SAY NO TO PLASTICS for better living experience on Earth. Lets LIVE and let our fellow beings live !!! |
Mission of WORLD ANIMAL DAY
To raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals. It's celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology. Through increased awareness and education we can create a world where animals are always recognised as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare. |

Celebrating #NationalBlackCatDay ::: Black cats have it hard. They’re linked to ominous superstitions and they’re among the least likely to be adopted.
